loop

loop is a hydroponic garden. It recycles nutrient rich water through a closed loop system and provides the conditions needed for plants to grow without the traditional use of soil. Made from easily available materials, this installation intends to empower people to become producers instead of just consumers

In 2016, I collaborated with Studio DBG to design and build an interactive installation for the Gladstone Hotel's annual Grow Op festival. Loop features a cascading hydroponic garden that can be watered via a custom 3D printed pump fixed to a Duchamp inspired bike wheel. Loop playfully showcases an alternative food production method and material reuse.
